DMCA Copyright Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-11. SRM Helper respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same.
1. Our Policy
It is SRM Helper's policy to respond to clear, valid notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and equivalent provisions under the Indian Copyright Act 1957. We will promptly investigate and take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to the allegedly infringing material.
2. Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe that content hosted on or accessible through SRM Helper (srmhelper.pro) infringes your copyright, please send a written notification to our designated copyright agent containing the following information as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works, provide a representative list.
- Identification of the infringing material and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material on our site. Please provide the specific URL(s) where the material is found.
- Your contact information: full name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name at the end of the email is sufficient for electronic signature).

3. Counter-Notification
If you believe that material you submitted was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification containing:
- Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and the location where it appeared before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address and telephone number
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your judicial district (or the judicial district where SRM Helper's service provider is located if outside the US)
- Your physical or electronic signature
4. Repeat Infringer Policy
In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable laws, SRM Helper may, in appropriate circumstances, terminate access for users who are repeat infringers. Since SRM Helper does not maintain user accounts, this applies to the removal of contributed resources and may include blocking associated IP ranges from contributing future content.
5. Special Note for SRMIST Materials
SRM Helper is an unofficial student resource. We do not host or distribute official SRMIST question papers, syllabus documents or any institutionally copyrighted materials on our servers. Any links to or references of such materials are for informational purposes. If you are an authorised representative of SRM Institute of Science and Technology and believe that this site infringes institutional copyrights, please contact us at [email protected] and we will address your concerns within 48 hours.
6. Response Timeline
Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notice, we will:
- Acknowledge receipt within 24-48 hours
- Review the claim within 5 business days
- Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material if the claim is valid
- Notify the contributor (when identifiable) of the removal
